About Javascript, Log-ins, and Cookies

No Log-in Required

Even though our online store provides many features normally associated with log-ins, it does not require a log-in. So there's less to keep track of; and we hope this makes a convenient shopping experience for you.

Javascript and Cookies Are Required

However, our web 2.0 functionality does depend upon Javascript and cookies. Javascript and cookies must be enabled in your browser settings in order to use our online store. It won't work otherwise. (How do I check my browser settings?)

After Check-Out is Complete

After you've completed your checkout, you may disable Javascript if you wish (although we don't recommend it). You could also delete cookies afterward; however, some things will go smoother for you if you don't. That is, our online store will remember you by your browser's cookies and offer conveniences such as reduced typing on subsequent orders. You would have more typing to do on subsequent orders if you delete your cookies. You would also lose control of your wish list if you delete your cookies, since your wish list requires a cookie to remember you by. Additionally, you are recognized as having purchased certain products by means of your cookies, and accordingly eligible to offer product ratings on products you've purchased. (If you delete your cookies you will not be able to submit ratings on products you've purchased.)

Your Own Computer Account

For related reasons, it's recommended that you use your own computer account, so that you will continue to have these conveniences next time you access our online store. By “computer account” we mean, for example, the account you use when you log in to Windows or another operating system, because your operating system manages your preference settings (including browser cookies) by means of such an account. This rule of thumb applies equally well whether you're using a desktop, laptop, tablet, or mobile device. Choose one device, one computer account, and stick with it on subsequent visits to reduce typing, retain control of your wish list, and retain your eligibility to rate products—without having to keep track of a password.

A Public Computer Account

If using a public computer, please click “Clear Cookies” and close the browser window to protect your privacy when you are finished. Thank you.
